traces of the hamburger admiralität and hamburger sklavenkasse, an institution set up to purchase the freedom of hanseatic sailors captured by pirates from north africa. found on the floor of the exhibition venue in the hamburg admiralitätsstrasse, sketched on the inside of a paper globe.

the hamburger sklavenkasse was the first institution of social security in germany.
